For the next 30 days (or whenever I stop being lazy and finish it), I will be giving my fingers short bursts of exercise by completing the 30 Day Horror Challenge, found here. Hopefully it will give you a bit of insight into what horror is for me. Don't forget to check back every day for a new installment.
Day 13: A formidable antagonist
I wanted to be clever with this one, and to come up with someone you mightened have thought of, but my choice, especially under consideration, has to be Jigsaw, of the Saw films. I'm afraid this makes for a boring read, because he has all the obvious traits; intelligent, ruthless, violent, passionate. The cancer patient who subjected people to heinous life threatening traps is so formidable, not even dying less than halfway through the franchise can stop him. Regardless of the diminishing quality of the films (and increasingly repugnant gore), Jigsaw is the puppet-master behind several apprentices who carry on his legacy, all of which inevitably lose sight of his cause. The latter Saw films have a lot hinged on the apprentices straying from Jigsaw's strict rules that gave people a fair chance at survival, and though it appears it all descends into anarchy and that Jigsaw was actually a pretty lame 'mastermind', the series continuously comes around to everything working out exactly as he intended. Even though he was dead. From like three fucking movies in. Beat that.

Wolverine Back For "Days Of Future Past"
While in an interview, promoting his new film adaption of hit musical, "Les Miserables", Hugh Jackman confirmed that he will indeed be returning to the role of Wolverine again for the 7th time in the "X-Men" franchise that's expanded throughout 14 years ("The Wolverine" in 2013 and "Days Of Future Past" in 2014).
Here's what Jackman said about returning to the role again after next years solo Wolverine film,

"There is an X-Men: First Class sequel, which Bryan Singer is directing, as you know. Which I think is awesome. It started with Bryan Singer. I know the fans are super excited. I did a three-hour, three word cameo in the last one. It literally took me three hours. As long as it took me to audition for Les Miserables. I have been talking to Bryan Singer about doing something in this. There will be more claws in this. The three is getting a little dull. Four maybe? I like that."
"Chronicle" Actor Gets Role As Osborn!
It has been confirmed that "Chronicle" villain Dane DeHaan has been cast as Peter Parker's best friend and future arch nemesis Harry Osborn. "Amazing Spider-Man" director, Marc Webb, confirmed this via his Twitter page earlier today.
It has also been confirmed in a Sony press release that Jamie Foxx is indeed for sure playing the films lead villain, Electro. They also confirmed that a third film is in the making when they referred to "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" as the next installment in the trilogy.

New "Man Of Steel" Poster Finally Revealed!
Finally, a new poster for Zach Snyder's "Man Of Steel" reboot has been released online for fans! It appears that Superman is under arrest, which is very interesting. Why would the man of steel be under arrest? And why isn't he breaking loose either? This is very interesting and I can't wait for the new trailer, which we will all see this month during the release of "The Hobbit-Part 1".
30 Day Horror Challenge-Day 12: Plot you would least like to end up in

Day 12: Plot you would least like to end up in.
This is a tough one... I think I will give the honour to The Happening. And yes, I am serious. No, really. Fuck sake, stop laughing! I don't find it a particularly scary film, but of every film I could think of, it is the one I would least like to be in. Why? It's a film where people commit suicide involuntarily because plants make them. It's laughable! Well, here's the simple answer; The Happening is the poster boy for complete uncontrol and essentially the most potentially nihilistic film ever. Ok, it seems like a stupid film (and upon recent viewing, is acted in the most peculiar way ever), but it is a film where there is almost literally no way to stop yourself once you have been overcome by the plants' power (goddamn, I feel stupid just typing that). It's not a case of feeling it coming on and rushing to the lab to help yourself, or finding the horcrux to reverse everything. Shit happens, and there is nothing you can do about it. Even worse? In the end (SPOILER ALERT), the plants are still in total control. Several other films have the same kind of eerie premise (The Thing and The Crazies), and it does relate to zombie films a lot too, but with all the others, you have to come in contact with something/someone, and if you are the crazy old hermit in the shed, you are probably still happy as Larry making your tinfoil hats while the world tears itself apart. But not The Happening. No one is spared, if the plants so choose.
Good God, I'm giving this film praise, AGAIN!

First Teaser Poster For "Star Trek Into Darkness"

I am loving this look for the first teaser poster for "Star Trek Into Darkness". Looks like Benedict Cumberbatch's villain is going to kick ass and fuck things up for the not only the crew of the Enterprise, but also the world.
Now I'm sure that a few buildings in the background are buildings from London. Sir Alan Sugar's building is seen from the bottom right of the poster. Also, these type of posters seem to becoming a type of trend for Hollywood poster designers.
