New "Starship Troopers" Reboot/Remake To Be Less Violent?!

The producer of the upcoming reboot/remake of 90's violent classic, "Starship Troopers", has said that the new one will be less violent than the original. "Verhoeven made his movie a critique of fascism," says Jaffe, "whereas Heinlein was writing from the perspective of someone who had served in World War II. Y'know, one man's fascism is another man's patriotism..." 

"The more expensive a film is, the harder it is now to make it that violent," explains Jaffe, also one of the team behind the Colin Farrell's Total Recall. "With Recall in particular, we made a conscious choice to keep it tonally closer to something like Minority Report. It gives the studio, and us as producers, the opportunity to reintroduce it in a new way." 

"Working in a visual-efects renaissance as we are, we have the ability to do so much more now. We can do the Jump Suits [armoured exoskeletons from Heinlein's novel], for example, which I don't think they could have done before."
Now, yeah I can see what he's saying, but gore and blood is what makes the "Starship Troopers" films worth watching, even the shitty ones. And with all the new technology we have now and all of the better CGI, the creators could make one hell of a blood bath with the new one and give the creators of the first one, a right good showing up.
I'm assuming that the new one will probably get a "15" rating over here in the UK, just like the direct-2-DVD last one. It definitely not get a "12A" or even the good old "18" rating as we would all hope. 

"Starship Troopers" Reboot/Remake?!

I literally just found out about this, but apparently not only is Hollywood making a brand-new fully CGI "Starship Troopers 4", which is being released straight-to-DVD and is called, "Starship Troopers: Invasion" and by the way, I've watched the trailer for it and it's fucking terrible looking. It's meant to be made with state of the art CGI tech, but it looks like video-game graphics.................not good for a film. I'm not reporting a thing about it because it's shite looking!
Anyway, Hollywood is also now planning a remake/reboot of the 1997 original. They plan to make this film as close to the books plot as possible. The original film missed out quite a bit from the book, so they plan to basically make a direct adaption of the book.
I'm yes and no with this upcoming remake/reboot. It's good that they're planning a direct adaption, but it's bad that it's another Hollywood reboot/remake and not just a new sequel. Can't they just do what "American Pie: Reunion" did and try and make a new sequel that's good enough for the BIG-screen?!
