Joseph Gordon-Levitt Playing The Next Batman After All And Snyder And Cavill Involved In "Justice League" Film Too?
Reports online are strongly suggesting that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in meetings over at Warner to star as the new Batman in their "Justice League" BIG-screen movie. It's been rumored for ages that Levitt could be the next Batman in either a direct sequel to Chris Nolan's film series or crossover and enter into the "Justice League" film universe when it begins in 2015.
Online sites were suggesting that Warner were going to clean the slate and cast a brand new Batman for both the "Justice" universe and the solo Batman reboot series, but now that may not be the case after all. John Blake could be Batman rather than go back and re-create Bruce Wayne again.
Fans, including me, didn't like the idea of two Batmen and the same going for Superman, two different Supermen on-screen. Maybe Warner have listened to fans and thought, "Fuck it, let's bring back Levitt and keep him as Batman from now on."...........well hopefully, because this is just a MASSIVE rumor.
Zach Snyder did though let slip that he and his Superman, Henry Cavill, could be apart of the planned "Justice" film after all, rather than the split universe. I would rather see Cavill come back rather than two different actors playing the same hero on-screen.............POINTLESS!!!
When Snyder was asked about his involvement in the "Justice" film, he said,

"I can’t really say anything to that, because that’s a big spoiler. I will say, yeah, they trust me to keep them on course."
He also added,"I don’t know how ‘Justice League’ is going to be handled. Honestly, I don’t, but ‘The Man of Steel’ exists, and Superman is in it. I don’t know how you’d move forward without acknowledging that."
UPDATE: Hollywood.com have reported that Gordon-Levitt's reps have denied the rumor of him appearing in the "Justice League" film as John Blake. Reps have denied things before and it's turned out true though.
"Sherlock: Series 3" Not On TV Until Late 2013/Early 2014!
It's been reported and confirmed that filming for the third series of hit BBC show "Sherlock" has been moved to March next year and may not air on TV until late 2013 or early 2014 at the most.
Filming was originally confirmed to start in early January for a Summer 2013 air, but not that seems as though that ain't going to happen, which is very annoying because we may have to wait for another year/year and a half if so.

Kevin Feige Confirms No Avengers Cameos In "IRON MAN 3"
Marvel producer, Kevin Feige, has confirmed that none of the other Avengers will appear in any way shape or form in Shane Black's 2013 "Iron Man" sequel.
Usually Sam Jackson's Nick Fury is usually the one that cameos in the "Iron Man" films, but not this time around.
"Iron Man 3 doesn't feature any of the other Avengers, or Nick Fury showing up, or any of those world-blending conceits that the Phase One films had. You have to keep in mind that Iron Man 3 had been in the works for almost a year, year and a half before The Avengers was released. We're sticking to the vision for these films, and showing once again that these characters are just as interesting alone as they are together."

The First Trailer For This Years "DW: Xmas Special"
I totally forgot to blog about this teaser trailer of this years "Doctor Who: Christmas Special" shown on "Children In Need 2012" last Friday, the 16th. Fans, as usual, during "Children In Need" where treated to a teaser trailer for "Doctor Who: The Snowmen", which is this years title for the Christmas Special.
The trailer is a bit cheesy because the villains are Snowmen, but it's just awesome to see The Doctor back in action since his last emotional appearance when Amy and Rory left. It's also awesome to see the new companion, played by Jenna-Louise Coleman to be in action too.
It's interesting to see the three above characters returning to the show. I wonder how they got there and just happen to meet up with The Doctor and his new companion? Anyway, like I said, the episode looks cheesy, but brilliant and I'm just happy to see it back on TV, so check out the new trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3KVpvEUTns

30 Day Horror Challenge-Day 11: Wonderful use of lighting.
For the next 30 days, I will be giving my fingers short bursts of exercise by completing the 30 Day Horror Challenge, found here. Hopefully it will give you a bit of insight into what horror is for me. Don't forget to check back every day for a new instalment.
Day 11: Wonderful use of lighting
Could the answer ever be anything but Suspiria? Dario Argento's 1977 masterpiece is not only arguably his best film, but also arguably one of the most visually interesting films ever. The story is based around the strange going ons in a boarding dancing academy in Germany, which the students think might be the doings of a witch, and you can guess the film lends itself to nightmare imagery. I could go on for days about the stunning set pieces and design and general content of the film, but since this is to primarily loo at lighting, let's leave it at that. The lighting is not what you would call traditional. The entire film is played through a child's eyes, and the lighting is used to add to this. Heavy contrast is seen throughout, with stark, well lit passages of light showing us just how close to the safety of the outside world we are, and in consequence forcing us to be more aware of the darker and more hidden places in the school that we head. There is also the films use of colour in scenes that is completely contradictory to what the lighting situation should be. Case in point; when the girls are forced to sleep in the hall after a maggot infestation, the room turns a deep red, instead of black (or the more familiar cinematic blue that Hollywood uses so we can see what happens at night), or the sickly blue that tinges the frame heavily as a girl tries to outrun a nightmare killer. This heavy colour coding is abstract and very symbolic (google and you will find plenty of interpretations of the colours), going hand in hand with the lush cinematography of the film making Suspiria one heck of a beautiful film, even after 35 years.

"Lost Boys" Franchise Is Dead........Well Kind Of!
While promoting his new horror film, "6 Degrees of Hell", Corey Feldman was asked if the "Lost Boys" franchise will go on even though the company that distributes the direct-2-DVD sequels has closed down. A few months back Warner Premiere closed down, which now leaves the long-running franchise in limbo. There were plans for a new trilogy and new TV spin-off too, but now it looks as though the franchise is dead after what Feldman said,
"I am not sure if you are aware, but Warner Premiere has folded. The company that was assigned to make the films in The Lost Boys franchise are no longer in business. Therefore, that leaves The Lost Boys without a home. The Frog Brothers are homeless at the moment.
I would like to see the franchise stay alive. There is not a day that passes, that a fan doesn't write to me and say, "What about the next The Lost Boys? Where is Lost Boys 4? What about another Frog Brothers movie? Frog Brothers TV show Frog Brothers cartoon?
People love it. People want to see more of it. Jamison Newlander and I are always down to get back into bed. But that being said, it's Warner Bros. that drives that boat. It is a Warner Bros. film, it's a Warner Bros. franchise. Without Warner Bros. behind it, there are no more Frog Brothers. The Bros. Warner need to get back into bed with The Bros. Frog. Then we can all have a great big movie orgy. Until then, we are all left as homeless Frogs."
JR Ewing Is Dead!
On Friday 24th 2012 a legend died. Larry Hagman, known for his famous role as evil oil baron JR Ewing in both the original and new series of "Dallas" passed away in hospital due to cancer. He lived his last hours with his family and closet friends, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray, who play his on-screen brother and ex-wife, Bobby Ewing and Sue Ellen. He died in the city he loved most...........DALLAS.
Hagman already began filming a few episodes for series two of the revived version of the classic show which ran for nearly 20 years in it's original run. Now the writers are said to be re-writing the last scene he filmed and add in his death into the show.
It's really a sad day when someone who you love watching on TV dies. I never watched the original show, but I loved the new series so much. I was looking forward to the next series, which begins in January in the US but later next year over here in the UK. Hopefully the show will go on without him. My dad always did say that Hagman would probably play JR until the day he died, he was so right.
Friends and co-stars took to Twitter and other online sites and news reporters to took about the global star. Close friend, Patrick Duffy, told newspapers,
"MY friend is taking a break."
Victoria Prinicpal, who played Pam Ewing in the old series said,
"He is unforgettable, and irreplaceable, to millions of fans around the world, and in the hearts of each of us, who was lucky enough to know and love him,"
And finally, classic "Dallas" director Michael Preece said,
"Larry did direct a lot of episodes, and you'd stage a scene, they would just stage it for you, he was terrific. And you try to get most of his work before lunch, because he was better in the morning - but he was great to be around, it was like a family."

30 Day Horror Challenge-Day 10: A Great Sequel
For the next 30 days, I will be giving my fingers short bursts of exercise by completing the 30 Day Horror Challenge, found here. Hopefully it will give you a bit of insight into what horror is for me. Don't forget to check back every day for a new instalment.
Day 09: A great sequel.
I'll take some flack for this, but here it goes; Alien 3. That's right, widely considered the worst of the original trilogy (until Resurrection came along), disowned by future amaze-balls director David Fincher, and regarded as destroying so many elements of the films that the previous instalments had built up. And I love it. I hate seeing that Fincher disowned the film, because it has all the hallmarks of his future best works; dark and starkly beautiful photography (returning to the cinematic scope of the first film), a gritty narrative, and an abstract score. What really makes this film for me is just how much balls it has. Hicks and Newt were well loved characters from the preceding Aliens, and this film just completely does away with them. Ellen Ripley is, once again, alone and must fight to survive in a hostile environment (here, it is an all-male prison planet that has no weapons). The original theatrical release is actually missing a lot of material that has since been reworked and released as the 'workprint' version, which you can find in the Quadrilogy and Anthology boxsets, and would be my preferred version, as it covers several plot holes and just gives me more of this dank and cold film (I will make a side note, a friend of mine maintains he prefers the theatrical cut, as the workprint feels long and wandering, a complaint I can understand). I really think a lot of people didn't like this film on its release because it was such a 180 compared to the previous, more action orientated Aliens, but this is much more in keeping with the industrial feel of Ridley Scott's masterpiece, and is, to boot, tense. You never know which to fear more; the streamlined, panther-like alien, or the prisoners, who are always on the border of being loyal allies or murderous rapists. Not a popcorn film by any stretch of the imagination, this film is a dark masterpiece.

Casting Begins On The New Harry Osborn!
So casting for the new rebooted version of Harry Osborn is underway over in Hollywood. Actors like Dane DeHaan (Chronicle), Alden Ehrenreich (auditioned for role of Peter Parker for this reboot series), Brady Corbet (24) and Sam Clafin (Hunger Games 2) are just some of the actors who are in talks for the role of Peter Parkers best friend turn enemy. Ehrenreich and DeHaan have been rumored to be the studios top choices for the role.
"Empire Strikes Back" Writers Back For New Trilogy!
Reports online are saying that original "Star Wars" writer, Lawrence Kasdan, is returning to write the scripts for the next two films after "Episode 7", which is currently being wrote by Michael Arndt. It was rumored that Arndt was penning all three scripts, but it looks like that may not be the case now. Kasdan wrote the script for the amazing "Empire Strikes Back" and is looking to bring the feel of that installment into the new ones with "X-Men: First Class" writer, Simon Kinberg. It's also been rumored on Twitter that both writers of "Episode 8 & 9" will also be producers for the whole new trilogy too.
On the note of the new trilogy, Billy Dee Williams, who played Lando in "Return Of The Jedi" has announced that he would love to return for the new films.
It's also been confirmed that his character does appear in the first draft of the script, but it's unknown if he'll be kept in the final drafts too though.

More Concept Art From The 2014 Reboot Of "ROBOCOP"
I'm not going to lie, but I kind of love the whole human right hand, because it just looks right for this version of the half man/half cyborg character. It looks like this Robo could also be running in this 2014 reboot too, which is different. It is mentioned that he is faster than any human, but I didn't expect him to actually run.

30 Day Horror Challenge-Day 09: A movie that you like to show people
For the next 30 days, I will be giving my fingers short bursts of exercise by completing the 30 Day Horror Challenge, found here. Hopefully it will give you a bit of insight into what horror is for me. Don't forget to check back every day for a new instalment.
Day 09: A movie that you like to show people.
No hesitation; The Ruins. This film is about the survival of some 20 something year olds trapped on top of some ancient ruins in South America (or central, I'm not 100%), with locals refusing to let them leave, the reason quickly becoming apparent; killer plants. Yes, this sounds eerily like The Happening, but this film could not be further from it. It is a survival horror in all senses, with the viewer put in the position of the kids trapped right out in the open, with the choice being between the killer locals or starvation and killer plants. Shot beautifully, acted convincingly, effects shown viscerally, the film is the whole package and belongs on best-of lists. The biggest shame is that it isn't, and a lot of people aren't even aware of its existence, a wrong I try to set right by showing it to people.
So go watch it!!!

30 Day Horror Challenge-Day 08: A terrifying inanimate object
For the next 30 days, I will be giving my fingers short bursts of exercise by completing the 30 Day Horror Challenge, found here. Hopefully it will give you a bit of insight into what horror is for me. Don't forget to check back every day for a new instalment.
Of course, in typical me fashion, not only have I fallen behind, but I have consistently fallen behind and lied about getting through this 30 Day Horror Challenge. BUT, being one to argue, if we look at time in all its definitions, the simplest one being that it is all relative, to some poor souls out there who have stumbled across this blog, I have yet to miss a day, but have in fact presented all the days in one go so far... Ok, ok, long story short; lots of work, laptop go boom, I'm a horrible person. Let's just get on with the show;
Day 08: A terrifying inanimate object.
This one actually stumped me for quite awhile (7 years, I think. Time is relative yadda yadda), but in the end, it could never be anything but the Lament Configuration from the Hellraiser series. Very simply, a puzzle box that, when solved, opens a portal to another universe/dimension, which is inhabited by the ghastly Cenobites (led by the ever popular Pinhead). These creatures then inflict the most torturous pain on the puzzle solver, providing what they say is explicit pleasure (that whole blurry line and the likes). The terror comes from the fact that the puzzle box itself is just so innocuous. It is actually downright attractive. But some unsuspecting person, even a child, could bring about an eternity of suffering for themselves by accident. And the box really isn't that hard to solve, so you know there are plenty of people who only solved it because they had a spare 5 minutes and they left their Sudoko at home.
